BUILDING OWNERS AND MANAGERS ASSOCIATION METRO DETROIT

Brian Salliotte passed away suddenly on March 24, 2026, at the age of 56. He was born on October 14, 1969.

Brian served the members of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Metro Detroit as a Director, Secretary and Treasurer prior to becoming the President from 2015 to 2018. He was the Governor of BOMA Metro Detroit at the time of his passing and continued to be active in all aspects of the association including the TOBY Awards, Government Advocacy, and he was always a participant at Association events. His favorite events being the the annual Trade Fair and the TOBY Awards Show. In 2024, Brian was recognized with the BOMA Lifetime Achievement Award which honors a professional in Commercial Real Estate who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, service, and dedication throughout their career. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have gone beyond expected standards of professionalism, leaving a lasting impact on the industry, the BOMA organization, and the broader community.

Brian will be remembered as an outgoing and genuine man, constantly making everyone around him laugh. He was well known and deeply loved by many, and his presence made every room feel a little lighter.

He was the devoted husband of his beloved wife, Diane, with whom he shared a beautiful life since their marriage on January 27, 1996. Together, they built a strong and loving family that meant everything to him.

Brian was a proud and dedicated father to Nicholas and Rachel (Alex). He took great pride in being there for his children in every way possible, always striving to give them the best life he could. His love for them was steady, selfless, and unwavering.

He is also survived by his siblings, Michael (Laura), Shawn (Penelope), Loni (Darrin), Lindsay (Shea), Derek (Heather), Dustin (Shannon), along with his many nieces and nephews and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.  Brian was preceded in death by his loving parents, Richard and Carole Salliotte.

Brian had a passion for hockey. Not only did he enjoy playing the game, but he also dedicated much of his time to coaching. For more than ten years, he proudly coached the Dakota hockey team, where he guided, encouraged, and mentored young players both on and off the ice. The relationships he built with his players and their families meant the world to him, and seeing those kids grow and succeed was one of his greatest sources of pride.  Brian also loved spending time watching and going to Detroit Red Wings games with his family. Whether at home or talking about the latest game, those moments together were something he truly cherished, sharing his passion for the sport with the people he loved most.  Outside of the rink, Brian found joy in the simple things in life. He took great pride in his yard and could often be found outside making sure everything looked just right.

Brian’s home was always filled with the energy and companionship of dogs. He cherished the time spent with each dog and over the years always seemed to have more than one in the house. No matter how busy his day had been, he was always happy to come home to them.

Brian will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Brian will be missed dearly. He left this earth way too soon. We weren’t ready for him to leave us but God must have needed a little more laughter up there in heaven.
