Eviction Process Explained

In Michigan, the landlord must give the tenant at least 7 days’ notice before filing to evict. 
Andrew Harris of Kitch Attorneys & Counselors will walk you through the steps to legally evict a tenant in Michigan.  Attend and learn:

  • The proper method to serve a Tenant with a Demand for Possession or Notice to Quit
  • Whether to pursue a termination of tenancy or non-payment of rent possession lawsuit
  • How to enforce security deposit clauses and attorney fees provisions
  • Whether to pursue litigation in District Court, Circuit Court or both
  • What to do if a Tenant files for bankruptcy
  • The strategic decisions made during litigation to ensure possession of the premises and collection of delinquent charges due under the Lease
  • The differences between pursuing a residential tenant and a commercial tenant
