How to Submit an Article to VISIONS

Writing an article for VISIONS is an excellent way to gain recognition and to share your expertise with fellow BOMA of Metro Detroit members. We want to hear from you about timely and relevant topics in commercial real estate, such as
LEEDS certification, buying natural gas, landlord/tenant relations, and the like.

Please follow the guidelines below when submitting your article.

Article Submission Requirements

• Length: Feature article—500 to 800 words

• Submit the article in a Microsoft Word® file, 12-point type, Times New Roman font, and double-spaced.

• Give the article a title and byline. Include subheads in a feature-length article.

• If your article has been published elsewhere, please let us know when and where.

• Articles must be generic, and may not promote a product, service, or company.

• BOMA of Metro Detroit reserves the right to edit the content of the article and cannot guarantee that it will be published. Articles that exceed the required length may be edited at the discretion of the editor. If substantial editing is required, BOMA of Metro Detroit may send the article back to the author for revisions.

• Photos, graphs, and charts can be included with your submission—DO NOT EMBED the photos in a Word document. Send them as separate attachments and make sure they are high-resolution (300 dpi or higher) and in a tiff, jpeg, or eps format. Include captions if necessary.

• Please send an author bio with a photo, and include the author’s full name, title, company, location, and contact information.

• Send all materials to info@bomadet.org.
