About BOMA

Founded in 1908, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Metro Detroit is a professional trade association whose 350+ members either own or manage commercial real estate, or provide goods and services to the industry. Our charter encompasses nine Southeastern Michigan counties of Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne.

Membership provides commercial real estate professionals with the opportunity to work together for professional growth, corporate profit, and the benefit of the communities we serve.

Who are BOMA members? Principal Members are building owners, managers, asset managers, facility managers, leasing professionals, and medical office building professionals. Associate (Supplier) Members furnish services or supplies to the office building industry. And Additional Members are second or more members from the same member firm in good standing.

We are an active association that fully embraces the concept of volunteerism. Thanks to our member involvement, we have become the preeminent source of information and networking for this region's commercial real estate industry. This has contributed immensely to our continued success and has allowed our membership to grow annually for the last decade.

Our mission is to actively represent the best interests of the commercial real estate owner, the real estate professional, and our supplier members through: effective leadership in advocacy, the collection and dissemination of information, and professional development and accreditation. We strive to enhance the human, intellectual, and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry.

BOMA Detroit offers its members unsurpassed networking and educational opportunities, marketplace research data, advance information about industry changes, and access to "how-to" guidebooks and information-packed publications. As a BOMA member, you add to the collective ability to influence public policy decisions on the range of issues that affect the office building industry. If you own and/or manage commercial real estate, or are a quality supplier to our industry, then you will certainly benefit from membership.
